Make your home look gorgeously festive this year at a fraction of the ‘slice’ with DIY Christmas tree decorations using recycled Goodfella’s pizza boxes. See simple step by step guides to make your DIY Christmas decorations below.
Goodfella’s has partnered with Paper Artist, Tina Luo, to create five easy festive decorations for anyone to try at home.

Gingerbread Man - download the free template here
You will need:
- 1 x Goodfella’s Pizza Box
- 1 x Twine 10cm long
- 1 Template
- Scissors, tape and glue
*Tip: Use a hole punch to make the circles for buttons! *
Step 1
Open up your Goodfella’s pizza box! We will be using the back of the box to decorate the gingerbread man cut out
Step 2
Using the template, cut around the gingerbread man
Step 3
Cut out the details for the gingerbread man from the template.
Step 4
Glue the details onto your gingerbread man!
Step 5
Loop the ends of the twine and secure with tape. Flip over the gingerbread man and tape the twine on the back of the head.
The gingerbread man is now ready for your Christmas tree
Gingerbread House Garland - download the free template here
You will need:
- 1 x Goodfella’s Pizza Box
- 1 x Twine 1.5m long
- 1 Template
- Scissors, scalpel blade, cutting mat
- Tape and glue
*Tip: Roughly cut around each house & arrange them onto the box for minimal material wastage! *
Step 1
Open up the packaging! We will be using the back of the box to decorate the gingerbread house cut-outs
Step 2
Lightly attach the template onto the box and cut around the gingerbread houses
Step 3
Cut out the windows and roof detail using a scalpel blade and cutting mat. Cut the squares out of the window frames to keep the paper from ripping
Step 4
Glue the details onto the corresponding gingerbread house
Step 5
Position the gingerbread houses on the long piece of twine. Once you are happy with the placement, tape the twine onto the back of each house to secure.
Find a place to hang your gingerbread house garland up!
Christmas Tree - download the free template here
You will need:
- 1 x Goodfella’s Pizza Box
- 1 Template
- Scissors, tape and glue
- Optional: paper/paint
*Tip: Cover the front of the box with paper/paint of your choice to make the Christmas tree duo toned!
Step 1
Open up the packaging! We will be using the back of the box to decorate the gingerbread Christmas tree cut outs.
Step 2
Lightly attach the template onto the box and cut around the Christmas tree. Remember to cut down the line in the middle of the tree.
Step 3
Slot the two Christmas tree pieces together.
Step 4
Decorate! Cut out and glue on some paper baubles, draw on some sparkles, let your creativity run wild!
The Christmas tree is perfect to make any space feel Christmas-y!

You will need:
- 1 x Goodfella’s Pizza Box
- 1 Template
- Double sided tape and glue
- Scissors, scalpel blade, cutting mat
*Tip: Try and add a little bit of glue into the slots when you slot the cut-out pieces together to secure them! *
Step 1
Open up the packaging! We will be using the back of the box for the reindeer cut outs
Step 2
Apply double sided tape on the front cover packaging, then flatten the box for two layers of backing material shown on both sides.
Step 3
Lightly attach the template onto the box and cut around the body and legs of the reindeer. Remember to cut the lines on the side of the body and legs.
Step 4
Glue the small & big antler templates onto the box and cut out with a scalpel blade & cutting mat. Remember to cut the lines the side of the antlers.
Step 5
Slot the small antler pieces onto the top slots of the bigger antler piece.
Moose - download the free template here
You will need:
- 1 x Goodfella’s Pizza Box
- 1 Template
- Scissors, glue and double-sided tap
*Tip: Cut the hooves of the moose legs as straight as you can! This is key to making it stand! *
Step 1
Open up the packaging! We will be using the back of the box for the moose cut outs
Step 2
Apply double sided tape on the front cover packaging, then flatten the box for two layers of backing material shown on both sides
Step 3
Lightly attach the template onto the box & cut around the body and legs of the moose. Remember to cut the lines on the side of the body and legs
Step 4
Cut the square out where the moose antlers are inside. Fold along the dotted line and cut
around the antlers
Step 5
Separate the cut-out antlers into two and glue the them onto the head of the moose
Step 6
Slot the front leg with a shorter slot and the back leg with the longer slot onto the body of the moose
Draw on some eyes and nostrils to see the moose really come to life!
